Television remains one of the primary sources of entertainment contents, despite the availability of inexpensive Internet connection in almost every house in many modern countries. People have constant access to the virtual world, but it is still difficult to simply leave television behind. The Roamio Plus by TiVo tries to combine TV and Internet into a single package of entertainment, and it does the job very well indeed. It is still considerably a new model from TiVo which is actually one of the pioneers in DVR technology. Roamio Plus does not only deliver cable TV and Internet-based entertainment on your TV, but it also functions as high definition shows recorder with six tuners. Once the show is stored in this HD TV recorder, you can stream it on mobile devices as well.
Please put in mind that you need to have an active TiVo service to make all features work. As a general rule, you must connect Roamio Plus to your home network via Ethernet, cable TV cord, and HDTV via HDMI cable. If you don’t want to use Ethernet, you can replace it with MoCa connection too. The existing cable TV cord is probably connected to the cable box, but you can remove it and connect the cable to the Roamio Plus. Also, it is important that you get an M-CARD (Multi-Stream CableCARD) to keep your cable TV subscription active; contact you cable TV provider to get one and insert the card to the provided port on the back of Roamio Plus. Once everything is connected and setup, this streaming media player is ready to use. In general, the installation is quite easy, and the ability to combine cable TV and web entertainment as well as stream all those contents makes it deserve 4.5-stars out of 5.
